bentonite-colon-cleanserAs a colon cleanser, Bentonite clay is one of several different types of clays that may result in beneficial effects on your health.

Bentonite clay is a part of many cleansing routines. Generally between one teaspoon and one tablespoon bentonite clay is mixed into water two or three times a day as a way to draw toxins out of the body. The clay passes through the body without being digested, but along the way, it absorbs water and swells up like a sponge.

However, according to the Canadian Journal of Microbiology, bentonite is absorbing more than just water; it’s absorbing pathogenic viruses and microbes, pesticides, chemicals and intestinal irritants. Once they’re attracted to the “sponge-like clay”, the chemicals stay adhered until they leave the body.

When your intestine is cleaner, you can assimilate the nutrients better from your food and supplements.

A colon cleanser containing bentonite is a good cleanser, sweeping away the excess toxins held in an organ that benefits most without the toxins!

But it’s also acting as an adsorbent, pulling chemicals to itself that remain in the intestinal tract, such as residues from prescription medications that linger, affecting health. Bentonite binds the bad guys!
